Laconia, NH provides year round recreational opportunities for everyone, no matter your interests. The city was founded in 1893 and it was one of the largest native settlements in the region. Laconia evolved into a manufacturing center, producing lumber, textiles, shoes, hosiery, knitting machinery and needles for knitting machines. Manufacturing was the town's main industry, until tourism developed in the area due to new transportation in the late 18th and early 19th century. Today, Laconia is still visited by many tourists who enjoy all of the natural wonders the area has to offer.
Motorcycle Week
Bikers from far and wide come to gather on Weirs Beach in June of each year. Laconia Motorcycle Week is known as the nation's oldest national motorcycle rally, dating back to the summer of 1916, when a Gypsy Tour gathered for several days at Weirs Beach on the southern shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. Bikers participate in twisties and sweepers, racing and hill-climbing, bike shows and build-offs, all with beautiful views of the lake and mountains.
Funspot
Kids love hanging out at Funspot in Laconia on Weirs Beach. The entertainment center is an arcade that has one of the largest collections of late-1970s to mid-1980s games in the world. Along with games, Funspot has bowling, bingo, and mini golf. Often called “The Disney World of New Hampshire,” Funspot has enough activities to keep you busy for a day- or two or three!

State Park
Offering 3,500 feet of lake shoreline, Ahern State Park is sure to please. The state protected area is open year-round, has 128 acres of land, and offers hiking, non-motorized boating, biking, and fishing. If you're looking for a peaceful experience, Ahern State Park is for you. Residents enjoy a long, quiet walk on the wooded trails in the summer and a tranquil experience snowshoeing on the same trails in the colder months of the year.
