An interesting website promoting some of the smaller mountains.
The Wolfeboro Department of Parks and Recreation is thrilled by the gracious winter wonderland here at the Abenaki Ski Area. The snowfall and forecast are leading up to what we anxiously believe will be a spectacular holiday vacation week. Snow making began this week and with the help of mother nature we are beginning to cover the ski slope for our intended opening of the rope tow on December 26th. We invite you to come out and to support your local mountain. Bring your guests and holiday visitors out to enjoy the best of what Wolfeboro has to offer in the Winter. We have excellent grooming and you will be amazed at Abenaki conditions and terrain.

A woman whose husband died after falling overboard the M/S Mount Washington during a 2006 Halloween cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee has filed a lawsuit against the ship's owners.
Karen Sylvestre of Hooksett argues the ship's staff erred by serving alcohol to her husband, 45-year-old James Sylvestre, when they knew or should have known he was intoxicated. It's the first time anyone has directly linked Sylvestre's fatal accident with alcohol.
We are off to a great start for snow season. Here is a good article which summarizes what is happening at the eastern ski areas. New owners promise better experiences at our ski resorts, mother nature is only helping the cause this year.
