History runs deep at this charming restaurant located in the 1786 red house that inspired the illustrations for Elizabeth Orton Jones’ Little Golden Book version of “Little Red Riding Hood.” With three seatings, reservations are required and should be made well in advance. The seasonal menu, which changes monthly, includes a dip, soup, salad, bread, two entrée choices and a dessert. If you have time, walk around the lovely grounds that include a gift shop, gardens and a greenhouse filled with a huge selection of herbs (you’ll find some of those herbs incorporated into the seasonal dishes).
